Compression Molding

CPS has been providing compression molds and parts for customers for over a decade.  Compression molding involves taking a thermoset plastic and heating it up, then placing it within a mold and by applying pressure to the plastic within the mold, a part is generated.  Tools are built from Tooling Board and aluminum to the customer’s instruction.  With design in hand, prototype tools can be machined very rapidly out of High Temp tooling boards. CPS has several presses that are used for this process, located at both our Clinton Township and Fraser facilities. We have supplied all sorts of compression molded parts, from small items that were used for dunnage and larger items such as vehicle headliners. With our ovens, we have no problems heating even the most difficult materials.
